Leveraging ICT for Resilient Organizations and Sustainable Growth in the Asia Pacific Region
The Asia-Pacific is a region of vast diversity in terms of economic and socio-political development. The region as a whole is looking for greater economic integration to sustain its phenomenal growth while at the same time grappling with emerging social issues due to globalization. Against this backdrop, it is timely for the PACIS community to re-examine the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in developing sustainable economies and resilient organizations.
The Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS), the premier annual information systems conference in the region, aims to provide a high quality forum for researchers, practitioners, and policy makers to meet and exchange research findings and ideas on key issues in information systems and management that affect individuals, organizations and society in the Asia-Pacific region.
The conference theme for PACIS 2008 is "Leveraging ICT for Resilient Organizations and Sustainable Growth in the Asia Pacific Region" and especially welcomes papers addressing economic and social impacts of ICT in the Asia-Pacific region. The conference will be held in Suzhou, a world heritage city in China noted for its gardens and "Venice of the East" qualities. |
